My Honest and Detailed Review of Micro Niche Finder

I have owned Micro Niche Finder for several months now and I thought I should do an honest review on this product as it still get’s talked about a lot today and I have received several questions from my subscribers about it. I want to be able to give as much information on MNF as I can. So here is my Micro Niche Finder Review.

When you are looking to build a website, or write some articles or start a new PPC campaign, then you want to be assured that you can get the most accurate and detailed information possible. That is what Micro Niche Finder is supposed to do…

…so does it actually do that?

In a word, “YES”. It does all of that, and a lot more, and it does it very well.

The installation of the software is very smooth. You just need to register your product before you can start using it, but all of this can be done in just a few minutes so you will be able to use Micro Niche Finder right after you have paid for it and downloaded the product.

Upon opening for the first time you will see the welcome page of the interface. It looks quite bland and certainly doesn’t give you any clue as to the power of the software.

I am just going to go through a few examples of how to use Micro Niche Finder and what it can do for you.
When I open up Micro Niche Finder to use it, I usually have a niche and seed keyword phrase already in my mind. But if you’re not sure of what to target then all you need to do is click on the ‘home page’ icon in the top left and then on the “Brainstorm” link:

This will bring up 25 random product ideas with a huge variety of search results. It is certainly worth having a play around in here as sometimes you can find some real little gems that you would probably never have thought of before.

You also have the option in Micro Niche Finder to click on “Hot trends”, which will bring you up all of the latest trend searches. This is good if you want to make a ‘quick hit’ with something that is hot right that minute.

So when you have a keyword phrase in mind, you simply open up the ‘home page’ tab and enter your keyword phrase into the search field. For this example I have used the keyword phrase “tropical fish aquarium”. Just click on “Search” and it will bring up the search results.

Micro Niche Finder will then it bring you up a load of related results, sometimes hundreds of them. Now you can look through and start looking for keyword phrases that you know are going to work for you.

So let’s find our chosen keyword phrase “tropical fish aquarium” to start with and see if that will be any good.
We can access a lot of information about each search result right here on this page. We will go through from left to right.

On the left is the search term that we chose here (tropical fish aquarium). Then to the right of that you will see from the screen shot there are three red crosses. This tells me that the .com, .org and .net domain names for that keyword phrase are not available (if any of them were available that would be indicated by a green cross).

The next two figures are the local and global search counts. For this example the local count is showing 4400 and global at 6600 per month. The little graph you see to the right of it is the search trend that keyword phrase has experienced over the last 12 months, so you can see if there are any better months in the year that this particular keyword phrase will be more effective as it has more searches.

The figure of 86,500 to the right is the exact phrase count. This is the same as putting the keyword phrase into the Google in “quotes”, it gives you the competition for that exact phrase.

The next figure you can see is 0.51. This is the approximate ad cost for the top ad position in a Google Adwords campaign for that keyword phrase, so if you are looking to set up an adwords campaign you will know approximately how much you will have to bid. It is also a good indication if you want to set up an adsense site based around the keyword phrase on how much you are likely to get per click on your adsense ads.

Next you will see the “Get OCI” figure which is showing 91%. OCI stands for Online Commercial Intent, and is very important to know if the keyword phrase you have chosen has actual buyers looking for it, rather than people who are just looking to surf the web to get some free information. Obviously the lower the percentage, then the lower the commercial intent for the keyword phrase. 91% is pretty good and would certainly be a phrase worth using. This is an excellent little addition to Micro Niche Finder, very handy to be able to access this information from the user interface

Net to the right you will see a figure of 1325. This is the Measure of Backlinks (MOB) figure. This figure represents an estimated number of backlinks required for you to land on the first page of Google search results. This number is determined by Micro Niche Finder checking the number of InLinks for the top ten pages of Google’s search results for the exact phrase match of your chosen keyword phrase.

Now I’m sure you have been wondering what the big open box is that says “Backlink Information for “tropical fish aquarium””. I can get this information by clicking on the MOB figure, so here I clicked on the 1325 MOB figure and this opened up this box and told me how many backlinks each of the top ten sites for the exact phrase term have. This is very powerful and will give you a clear indication of what you need to do in the way of building backlinks to get your site ranked up there.

But this gets better still. If I then click on one of the backlink results for one of the sites shown in the results, it opens up Yahoo Site Explorer and shows me exactly where the backlinks for each site are coming from.

Again this is incredibly powerful and will allow you to approach the same sites that your competitors have their backlinks coming from so you can get your own too. It really does give you a huge advantage over your competitors.

The last figure you can see on the right hand side is the “Get SOC”, which means Strength of Competition. Here you will have three values:

1. X – Indicates strong competition, a difficult phrase to grab a foothold in Google

2. ! – Indicates moderate competition, a moderately easy phrase to rank in Google

3. √ – Indicates light competition, should be relatively to rank for this term in Google

You can also get some more information from your Get SOC result figure. If you click in the SOC result (in the image here it is the figure 178! This then opens up another box where you can retrieve some other relevant factors:

1. inAnchor count – How many sites that are linking to the target sites with the keyword phrase as the anchor text.

2. inTitle count – How many sites use the keyword phrase as part of the title of the page.

3. inURL count – How many sites use the keyword phrase as part of the URL.

There are many other features of Micro Niche Finder, too many for me to list them all here. But I have just given you some of the important features that you would acquire you all important data to start building your websites or writing your article around.

(Just as a side note, from the example keyword phrase I chose “tropical fish aquarium”, I would not target that keyword phrase, unless I was going to build a large authority site around it. But for a smaller site or just some articles it would be too hard to rank for)

Here are a few Pros and Cons that I feel are relevant to Micro Niche Finder:

Pros:

- Micro Niche Finder has an interface that is very user friendly and easy to navigate

- All search data on the same page, which makes it very easy to view all of your information in one place. No jumping from page to page to see results for different things.

- A lot of data can be accessed for each search result you enter. This really eliminates any guess work from your research results.

- Accurate and detailed search results.

- Ability to save multiple projects.

- ‘Brainstorm’ and ‘Hot Search’ features, from which you can find some excellent ideas from.

- You can also subscribe to the MNF list from the main sales page and you will receive a flash drive with the MNF product on it, so you can install it on another computer if you have one.

Cons:

- Sometimes search results can be a little slow.

- At the time of writing this review, Micro Niche Finder will only run on a MAC if you have some type of PC emulation software such as Parallels.

Verdict:

I use Micro Niche Finder pretty much every day in my business and now rely on it so much I don’t know where I would be without it. Its ease of use combined with the detailed and accurate results it produces make it one of the best purchases I have ever made for my business. I highly recommend this product to anyone that is serious about ranking in the search engines, because Micro Niche Finder will enable you to do just that.
